HEAD RUNNER

Responsibilities and duties

  • Take responsibility of the running of the runners team in Shelter;
  • Act as a runner during the night, working alongside with the runners team;
  • Offer support to the Night Manager in running the night;
  • Ensure the bar is well-stocked and operating smoothly;
  • Train new staff on the ins and outs of the club;
  • Report and liaise regularly with Club Manager and Floor Manager regarding departmental performance and ensure they are informed of any relevant information or issues;
  • Ensure breaks are organised in accordance with fluctuations in the volume of business;
  • Promote a positive attitude and team ethos, including ‘lead by example’, for the department, setting the pace and standards;
  • Ensure staff compliance with all the in-house rules and hygiene standards;
  • Prioritise effectiveness, fastness, cleanliness and excellent service;
  • Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources;
  • Have an overview of the stock and the supplies and report any needs immediately;
  • Ensure all areas of the club are kept in top cleanliness condition at all times;

Qualifications and skills

  • Hands on attitude and flexibility of moving from a role to another during one night;
  • Excellent leadership skills;
  • High School Diploma or higher;
  • One year minimum experience in similar role (desirable);
  • Runner experience (essential)
  • Flexible schedule with full availability on nights and weekends, plus selected holidays and peak club season (essential);
  • Dance music affinity and plenty of mileage in nightclubbing (essential);
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong command of the English language ;
  • Strong leadership skills (essential);
  • Team-player;
  • Excellent people skills (as you will be dealing with a lot of customers);
  • Pro-active in problem solving and work on own initiative to deal with problems;
  • Never leaves a task undone;

Working conditions and hours

The position is based in Amsterdam Noord. The position has variable working hours, with a minimum of four shifts per month (variable 10+ hours per shift) during peak season.

There is a requirement of availability during festivals, holiday season (Christmas or New Year and Easter) and King’s Day/Night.
